through the river gorge to the harbour and you will pass several welcoming
places to eat:
The Lyn Valley Hotel, The Village Inn, Rock House and The Rising Sun.
Next to Lynmouth’s western beach is Europe’s steepest funicular railway ...
the water-powered Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway.
This gives you a head start if you wish to walk the coast path to the Valley of
Rocks.
Lynmouth’s Manor Green leads to the eastern beach with it’s views of the highest sea cliffs in England. For the fit a walk to the top
brings you to the perfectly positioned Exmoor Sandpiper pub. Return via
Watersmeet and the more gentle riverside walk down the East Lyn valley.
Walk or drive
westwards
past Lynton to
the Valley Of Rocks.
The coastal route takes you to Lee Bay, Woody Bay
and the Heddon Valley.
The walk from the
Hunter’s Inn pub to
the beach is beautiful.
Turn right at the bottom of our drive and follow the East Lyn River valley to
Watersmeet.
East of Lynmouth lie the highest sea cliffs in England.
In Countisbury village, take the route past the church to the coast path.
River valleys lead inland where Exmoor has more to offer.
Exmoor is one of England’s last tranquil areas.

Lynton Tourist Information Centre is situated at the Town Hall.
